how to knit - cast on


It's called the e-wrap because you pretty much twist the yarn around your selected needles anti clockwise making the letter 'e' continuously.

This is the best way to cast on, if you are not beginning with a rib or just swatching some creative ideas etc.


Remember, with this type of cast-on to not make your tension too tight, otherwise it might jam the knitting carriage or break the yarn.


If you are knitting on a standard gauge machine like mine, which is a Brother KH-890 you will need to use 4ply or less.
