Creative insight

Hi everyone, I'm Dwaine.

I just wanted to take some time to tell you a little about myself and why I decided to start The Fashion Course blog.   I live in Nottingham, England and I work for a fashion supplier to the high street.  I absolutely love it!

Although, I love working in the fashion industry, I don't particularly use most of the skills I've learnt during my degree, so I have decided to put them to good use and create a guide to creative learning.
As a student I used the internet, books and blogs to aid most of my studies. The tutorials on youtube are incredible, you should never stay in a bubble and ignore valuable resources.  I am a visual learner, or I like to break things, mend them and then learn that way.
So being shown once at university and the expected to know it blind folded didn't really work for me.

However, I don't think you should use this blog as your only teaching method, because you need the experience of college, university and the invaluable experience the lecturers can give you.

The fashion industry is about being creative, having passion, being a hard worker, making friends and contacts and just being a nice person. These are all skills you can develop in a creative learning environment so don't pass them up because of the cost of a degree.

Thanks for stopping by! x
